Initiative name: Derasatee Description of the initiative: Educational scholarships that is provided by different banks in UAE to UAE Nationals to pursue an academic diploma program on Banking and Finance. Objective of the initiative:
• Offer educational opportunity to UAE Nationals • Strengthen the banking sector with qualified UAE Nationals • Have sustainable national workforce ready to meet bank’s current/ future expansion. • Contribute to banks commitment on the development and employment of UAE Nationals. • Help banks in meeting their annual Emartization quota. Programs covered in the initiative:
• Banking Diploma • Islamic Banking Diploma • Higher Diploma
Note: Both programs are approved by ministry of higher education and scientific research. Location of programs offered:
• Sharjah Campus • Abu Dhabi Campus
Length of the program:
• 16 to 24 month based on the candidate’s English level (IELTS 5) Program start date: • Academic year 2010 – 2011 (starting early September 2010) Sources of candidates: • Advertisement for fresh high school graduates • National HR bodies (Tanmia, AD Tawteen Council, Sharjah HRS) • Bank’s Database Bank’s commitment: • Signing employment contract with the candidate prior to joining the program • Contribute to the 40% of the published programs tuition (11,200) paid over the duration of the program. IELTS preparation fees are extra. • Pay monthly allowance to the candidate over the duration of the program. (allowance of the amount to be decided by the banks) that covers transportation and normal living expenses. • Offer 2 months internship during the program. Candidate’s commitment: • Meet the program requirements and maintain AGPA of 70%. • Meet EIBFS roles and regulations. • Obtain the IELTS 5 within two semesters. • Morning classes/ evening classes. • Other requirements based on the bank roles and regulations. |
