Al Jassmi: The Institute has become a popular destination for those seeking a career
Emirates Institute of Banking and financial Studies announced opening registration and receiving application for enrolling in the banking diploma programs (Banking Diploma Program, The Higher Banking Diploma and Islamic Banking Diploma) for the academic year 2011/2012. Mr. Jamal Ahmed Al Jassmi, General Manager mentioned that the announcement about the registration was made through the newspapers, local radio, broadcasts, and the Institute website. All Banking and financial Institutions were addressed to nominate their employees for study at the Institute.
He stated that the Institute became a destination for all those who wish to have a specialized certificate in the banking and finance as a first step towards a professional career in the future, as the institute offers specialized programs in addition with a two moth practical training g for all students to help them get acquainted with the environment of work and enhance their opportunity for getting a job in one of the financial and banking institutes. Mr. ALJassmi pointed that all those who wish to study at the institute should came to the institute’s permits in Sharjah or Abu Dhabi to get the application forms. They can also visit the institute website: www.eibfs.ae to get the registration form and fill it, and register electronically.

Mr. Al Jassmi pointed that all the banking diploma programs are accredited by the ministry of higher Education and Scientific Research. It is required for students to register to obtain TOFAL certificate (500) minimum or IELTS (5.0) minimum. IELTS is an English Language International Exam, which is run by Cambridge University and the British Council. This requirement, As Al Jassmi mentioned, will enhance the student’s professions in the English language and help them to work in the banking, finance sectors and international institutions. In addition to helping them to better understand and comprehend the study courses in the institute, as the courses are offered in English language.
IELTS preparation and Training is available at the institute.
Mr. Al Jassmi added that students who do not obtain the required level in the English language test, will be accepted in the institute on condition that they start IELTS preparatory programs together with the Diploma programs which are offered by the institute. In order to get ready and pass the test, and attain the required level by the ministry of Education and Scientific Research. As for other acceptance requirements, he mentioned the successful completion of the higher secondary level obtaining a minimum of 60% in the certificate. In addition to the language requirement (TOFAL 500 OR IELTS 5.0 minimum) and a personal interview held at the institute.
All Diploma Programs Are Accredited
The banking Diploma program is one of the earliest diploma programs offered in the UAE, and aims at supporting bankers and help them to develop their competency and improve their academic and practical qualification. The duration of the program is one and a half year, distributed into three academic semesters and one practical training in the banks. The Higher Banking Diploma (ICB) program is also recognized by the ministry internally and by the CSI (Canadian securities institute) externally. The duration of the study in this program is one year and four months distributed along four semesters. The Islamic banking Diploma (IBC) program is designed to cope with the new environment in the banking by creating a competent generation able to adapt with the new developments. The programs duration is one year and four months, also distributed into three semesters.
Study is available morning and evening in Sharjah and Abu Dhabi
Mr. Al Jassmi added that priority in acceptance is given to UAE citizens. Available seats and provided for other nationalities. Programs are offered in Sharjah and Abu Dhabi. Students have the freedom to select between the morning sessions (8:30 to 1:00 pm) or evening sessions (5:00 to 9:00 pm).
