EIBFS Banking Diploma; or college/university graduates with business experience.
National and International Accreditation The Higher Banking Diploma Program is nationally accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research (UAE) under decree no. 134, issued in July, 2001. It is also internationally accredited by The Institute of Canadian Bankers (ICB), Montreal, Canada. ICB prescribes core textbooks, provides assignments and sets the final exams, which are graded in Canada by ICB.
Qualifications Awarded Upon successful completion of program requirements, graduates are awarded the: The “Higher Banking Diploma" from EIBFS A Certificate of Achievement from ICB The “AICB” Designation. This is a professional banking qualification, whereby graduates may write A.I.C.B. after their names. The designation is highly reputable on national and international levels.
Program Overview The program comprises 18 courses and an integrative project. The curriculum is designed to give students hands on Banking and Corporate Industry
knowledge and practices.
Program Objectives
■ To provide students with fundamental and advanced knowledge of both corporate and personal banking and finance.
■ To provide students with required skills to work in any organization at different levels of management.
■ To expose students to the theoretical concepts and practical mechanisms of operation in international financial markets, so they have a better understanding of sophisticated financial means to fuel growth in the economy and to contribute to the UAE market.
■ To introduce students to key personal and socio-cultural variables to understand their clients and their clients’ needs in the investment process that is provided by the financial services industry.
■ To provide students with the fundamental requirements of business education, enabling them to pursue higher education levels.
■ To equip students with the basic requirements of professional certifications.
Duration of Study
The program runs from Sunday to Thursday – evening sessions.
The theoretical components of the program are delivered over four semesters (16 weeks each), and a practical summer course (8 weeks), which involves presenting the “Integrative Project" in order to achieve the designation of A.I.C.B.
