Round Table - 25th June 2007
Experience with Islamic banking over last three decades has been full of excitements, experiments, enchantments, and enhancements. It was also full of expectations. Shifting focus of Islamic Financial Industry from growth towards consolidation and strengthening the system has helped in the contributions from AAOIFI and IFSB in terms of development of Accounting Standards and Risk Management Framework.
Middle East is another important center for Islamic financial services with several large and prominent banks operating from this region. United Arab Emirates carries a legacy of Islamic Banking in terms of Islamic Institutions and Market.
Emirates Institute for Banking & Financial Studies (EIBFS) has been sincerely working towards contributions to the Islamic financial services in the form of development of training programs, diploma programs, and research. In its continued efforts towards providing support to the Islamic financial sector, EIBFS tied up with INCEIF, Malaysia, which has the distinction of being a fully functional Islamic University in the world.
EIBFS and INCEIF are organizing a Round Table Meeting for the top officials of the Islamic Financial Industry on “Islamic Financial Industry: Some Critical Issues.”
The round table will feature talks by highly prominent personalities from the Islamic Financial Industry, Shariah Scholars, Researchers and Academicians and will provide a platform for a strong and supportive knowledge sharing.
The program is exclusively for higher management level and hence pre-registration is essential. A brief outline of the program is enclosed with the letter.
